Project Orion....

My favorite chapter: The one with 5 pages. Why? Because it had 5 pages.

My least favorite chapter: All of them. Why? Because I don't plan on building a rocket any time soon. Why do I need to know how the ship was built? Why am I learning about a project that failed and cost the US a crapload of money during the Cold War? Why does Dyson not refer to his father as "dad" and then stress the importance of family? Why was Dyson not hit over the head with something relatively hard rendering him unconscious cause him to not be able to publish this book?

Here are some good ways to put Dyson's book to use:

1. Use it to feed a fire.
2. Use it as confetti for New Year's Eve.
3. Use it for a paper mache duck.

Basically everything but reading it...

    "a project that failed"

Did it, or did the U.S. ?

"and cost the US a crapload of money"

Compare the P.O. budget to Nerva, Apollo, N-1, or the current UHa budget, it was pretty cheap.
